Also, you may be able to land at smaller airports that are not served by commercial flights. That means you have a shorter commute from the airport to your final destination, which also saves you valuable time.
The other advantage of a private jet rental is that it is indeed private. You are not sharing the aircraft with strangers. This means if a group of people are flying together you can discuss confidential matters without risking their being overheard by others.
Even though current economic times are making it important to cut costs wherever possible, it still holds true that time is money, and if you can save a sufficient amount of time by renting or chartering a private aircraft then you are being cost effective and not wasteful.
